JARED & JASMINE’S ART NOUVEAU INVITATION

Late last year Jared and Jasmine were married in a beautiful, art nouveau building in Portland, Oregon called the Crystal Ballroom. We designed and letterpress printed these invitations to not only match the decor of the venue, but to match their wedding and their story.

The invitation itself is self-mailing. From the outside, the unassuming envelope is printed with their return address and a space delegated for addressing. Inside, the invitation is filled with an art nouveau pattern, which is smattered with interesting facts, details and ratios. Jasmine is a statistician and has a deep affection for numeracy, and Jared is in the IT industry, so together we made sure the numbers were factual, logical and accurate.

Chances of rain on the wedding day? 19:11. Number of days they’ve known each other? 4442 days, 65% of those spent together. Plus, hidden amongst the art nouveau leaves and vines are their two beloved cats, Irma and Ramen. The invitation is both aesthetically rich and personally detailed.

The invitation was printed in a perfect shade of plum on Stephen Scrambled White 330gsm then die cut and scored to size. The type is set in Willow, with the numbers set inPompadour Numerals.

Here’s to Jared and Jasmine (also known as ‘The Starblades’), looking as fabulous as ever!
